Set up promocode and promolink for tracking

This article is aimed at vendors. As an affiliate, you can find information about the promocode here.  

As a vendor, you need a promocode (HTML code) and/or a promolink for proper tracking via the Digistore24 statistics. This is important because without using them, key figures in dashboards, Digistore24 Analytics, and the Conversion Cockpit cannot be fully tracked. You can also use it to track your funnel entries individually.

Digistore24 provides you with the HTML code. All you have to do is copy it and embed it on your website. Proceed as described below. If you use WordPress, proceed as described here.

Attention

In order for your page views to be counted, you need the promocode and/or a promolink. You can also attach a tracking key to the promolink to keep track of your advertising campaigns. Take a look at this article.  

Promocode embed (for a product)

If you only sell one product on your website or only want to track one product, proceed as described below. If you want to track several products on your website, take a look at this guide.

  1. Go to Settings > Promocode for sales pages.
  2. Select which product you want to offer on your sales page. Your selection will automatically add the product ID of your chosen product to the HTML code.
  3. Copy the HTML code from the Embed promocode field. Insert it in the header of the HTML document of your website, e.g. directly before *-head-*. If this is not possible, place the code as high up on the page as possible.
  4. The next step is to activate your website. To do this, scroll down to the Promocode domains section. Enter your domain(s)/website(s) where the promocode is used.
  5. Click on Save.

If you have integrated the promocode on your sales page, your key figures can be tracked in full. You can find your figures in dashboards or in Digistore24 Analytics, e.g. in the following key figures: Promoclicks, visitors, conversion rate (click-to-order-form conversion, click-to-sale conversion).

Tip

Now that you have integrated the promocode for your tracking, your affiliates can use the URL + Get parameter as a link to promote your products. Please inform them about your promocode. Your affiliates can find more information about this in this article.
