The Conversion Cockpit is a world first from Digistore24, and is available to all Digistore24 users free of charge. Among other things, the Conversion Cockpit allows you to optimize your sales funnel using split tests. There are three optimization methods to choose from:
-
Product split test
Find out which is the most effective position for your product within your upsell flow.
-
Sales page/upsell page split test
Find out which sales page/upsell page is more likely to convert your visitors into buyers.
-
Order form split test
Find out on which order form your visitors are more likely to buy the product.
What are split tests?
During split tests, often called A/B tests, several so-called variants are compared in order to find out which of them generates more sales. The following variant types can be compared with each other:
- Products
- Sales pages for main products (=initial products) and upsell pages for upsell products
- Order forms
While setting up your split test, you can determine what percentage of all visitors should be redirected to which product/page/order form. For example, if you have created a product split test and set four different products as variants and would like to have exactly the same number of visitors for each of the products, you can set up the system so that 25% of the total traffic is forwarded to each variant.
Create split tests
- Switch to the Conversion Cockpit of your main product.
- Click on Set up split test in the field of the product for which you want to create a product split test.
- Select Product split test from the dropdown.
- Now select a variant of the base product for which you created the product split test. To do this, click on the dropdown Select product and select a product.
- Optional: If you want to add another variant, click on + Add another variant below and repeat step 4.
- Move the sliders to the right or enter your desired value in the field of the column Traffic in order to set the percentage of all visitors forwarded to the different variants.
- Click on Save on the right-hand side.
Create sales page/upsell page split test
The sales page split test for initial products only works via Promolink or Promopixel! Please note that we can only track the behaviour of your users on your sales page if they come to your sales page via the promolink or if you have installed a promopixel on your sales page. The sales page split test for upsell products always works. More about this can be found here.
- Switch to the Conversion Cockpit of your main product.
- Click on Set up split test in the field of the product for which you want to create a sales/upsell page split test.
- Now select the type of split test you want to perform:
- If you are creating the split test for your main product (=initial product), select Sales page split test.
- If you are creating the split test for your upsell product, select Upsell page split test.
- In the Sales page URL/Upsell page URL field, enter the link to the first page that you've added as a variant. Important: The sales page/upsell page that you have set in the Properties tab of the settings for the respective product will no longer be considered once you have created a split test. From now on, only pages that you have set as variants in the split test will apply.
- Click on + Add another variant and, just as in step 4, enter another link to the page you want to compare with the page you specified in step 4 in the Sales page URL/Upsell page URL field.
- Optional: If you want to add another variant, click on + Add another variant below and repeat step 4.
- Move the sliders to the right or enter your desired value in the field of the column Traffic in order to set the percentage of all visitors forwarded to the different variants.
- Click on Save on the right-hand side.
Create order form split test
Visitors are only shown in the split test if the order form was actually viewed! This is noteworthy, for example, when it comes to 1-click upsell products, because the order form is not displayed for those. For this reason, the conversion rate of this split test will most likely differ from that of other split tests.
- Switch to the Conversion Cockpit of your main product.
- Click on Set up split test in the field of the product for which you want to create an order form split test.
- Select Order form split test from the dropdown.
- Select the first order form you want to use for your split test from the Select order form dropdown.
- Click on + Add another variant and, just as in step 4, select another order form from the Select order form dropdown which you would like to compare with the form you created in step 4.
- Optional: If you want to add another variant, click on + Add another variant below and repeat step 4.
- Move the sliders to the right or enter your desired value in the field of the column Traffic in order to set the percentage of all visitors forwarded to the different variants.
- Click on Save on the right-hand side.
Tip
It is important that you keep an eye on the statistics of your split test. If you notice that a variant has done much better than the rest, you should set this variant for your funnel and delete your split test by clicking on Delete split test in the detailed statistics. More about your split test statistics can be found here.
