Set payment methods

Digistore24 offers a variety of payment methods for your customers to choose from on the order form to pay for your product. You can set which payment methods you want to offer.

The payment methods your customers can ultimately use depend on various factors, e.g.: 

  • Reseller through whom you sell
  • Payment options (one-time payments, subscriptions, installment payments)
  • Customer type: private customers (B2C) vs. business customers (B2B)
  • Customer's country*

Here’s how to enable or disable a payment method:

  1. In the Vendor view, go to Account > Products.
  2. Click on the Pencil icon for the desired product.
  3. Switch to the Payment plans tab.
  4. In the Settings section, activate the payment methods you want to offer under Payment method or deactivate the payment methods you do not want to offer**:
  5. Click the Save button.
*) How is the customer's country determined?

The customer's country is usually determined based on their IP address, unless you have configured the order form to ask for the customer's address.

Example:

Do not ask for address: A customer from Switzerland wants to buy your product. They have an IP address from Switzerland. Therefore, the SEPA direct debit payment method is not displayed to them.

Ask for address: A customer is in Switzerland but is a German citizen. They have an IP address from Switzerland. After entering their address, the order form automatically updates and displays the payment methods as if the customer were in Germany.

Ask for the customer's address on the order form:

  1. In the Vendor view, open Account > Products.
  2. Click on the Pencil icon for the desired product.
  3. Switch to the Order form tab.
  4. Scroll down to the Order form window.
  5. Click Yes at Always ask for address if not already done.
  6. Click Save.
**) Available payment methods depend on reseller contracts
Which payment methods are available to you is determined by your reseller contracts. This means that not every payment method listed here will necessarily be shown to you in Digistore24.

These payment methods are not available in the following order form types:

  • Classic
  • Responsive
  • Classic multi-step order box
