A lifetime affiliate is a special type of affiliate. They not only receive a commission for the purchase they broker; they also receive commissions for all subsequent purchases that the respective customer makes from you as a vendor using the same email address.

The benefits for you as a vendor? You make your products more attractive and thereby entice top affiliates.

Step-by-step guide: Activate lifetime affiliate scheme

1. In the vendor view, go to Account > Affiliates.
2. Switch to the Lifetime affiliates tab.
3. Click on Create lifetime affiliate scheme.
4. Select a Name for the scheme. This is only visible to you.
5. Below the Name field is the Active field. This field is set to Yes by default. Make sure that this is also the case here.
6. In the Order field, you select which scheme should apply if several schemes apply to an affiliate and a product simultaneously. In such a case, the scheme with the lowest value will be used.
7. Select the Products to which the scheme should apply.
8. If necessary, set a Commission that will apply to your lifetime affiliates. Make sure that this commission is lower than the normal affiliate commission you set for the purchased product. If it is not, the normal affiliate commission will be paid. If you leave this field empty, the normal affiliate commission you set for the purchased product will be used automatically.
9. There are two options for the All affiliates get lifetime commission field:
   • Yes

     All affiliates who promote your products automatically become lifetime affiliates.

   • No

     In the field below (Lifetime affiliates), which is only visible when this option is selected, you can manually add the IDs of your affiliates to register them as lifetime affiliates. This way, you can decide yourself which affiliates you want to be lifetime affiliates and which not.

10. There are two options for the dropdown The affiliate of the purchase:
    • ...lifetime affiliate receives no commission: If a promolink/content link from another affiliate applies, the lifetime affiliate will not be compensated.
    • ...remains affiliate alongside the lifetime affiliate - both receive commission: If a promolink/content link from another affiliate applies, both the lifetime affiliate and the affiliate will be compensated.

      Hinweis
      The lifetime affiliate only receives a commission if both commissions add up to a maximum of 99%. In the case of 100% or more, only the affiliate of the purchase is taken into account.

      Examples

      • Lifetime affiliate 49% + affiliate 50% = 99% → both receive a commission
      • Lifetime affiliate 50% + affiliate 50% = 100% → only the affiliate receives a commission
      • Lifetime affiliate 60% + affiliate 50% = 110% → only the affiliate receives a commission

11. Finally, click on Save.

If one of your lifetime affiliates brokers a purchase, they will be paid the lifetime commission you set as a vendor for all subsequent purchases made with the same email address.
