Specify until when a customer may return a purchased product.
- For sales made through the reseller Digistore24 GmbH, you can choose from return periods of 14, 30, 60, 90, and 180 days.
- For sales made through the reseller Digistore24 Inc., you can choose from return periods of 60, 90, and 180 days.
You cannot set a return period shorter than the legal withdrawal period.
Attention
The return period you set for your products does not apply to subscription products. The minimum term setting is the decisive factor for the cancellation of subscription products.
Note
In exceptional cases, it is also possible not to grant a right of return.
The return period begins when the first payment is made. A return is no longer possible once the return period has expired.

- Click on Product setup > Return policies in the vendor view.
- Click on the button Create return policy.
- Specify the settings for it:
- Enter a Name. This will only be visible to you.
- Select whether the return policy should be active immediately after saving in the Active field.
- Enter a number in the Order field. Digistore24 will check all return policies in ascending order. Once Digistore24 finds a return policy that applies to the main product, it will not check any further. For this reason, make sure:
- the more specialized the return policy, the smaller the number for the order, e.g., 7 for product 123456
- the more general the return policy, the larger the number for the order, e.g., 999 for all products
- Select the products to which the return policy should apply in the Products field.
- Select the return period in the Refund regulation field. You can only select return periods that are legal for the reseller and your products. The legal return period must be the minimum. The 30 and 60-day return policies correspond to one and two months, respectively. All other return periods are exact to the day.
- If you wish, enter a date in the Refund possible at least until field. Regardless of the return deadline, returns can be made until the date. The date can only extend the return period.
- Select whether a reminder procedure should be initiated in case of non-payment in the Reminder procedure allowed field.
- If a customer can cancel a subscription themselves, select whether they may independently return their product via a link in the Show button for rebilling cancellation on the order confirmation page field.
- Enter a sum in euros, US dollars, or Swiss Francs in the Tolerance for advance payments field. Digistore24 shall consider orders with an advance payment as paid, even if we do not receive the full purchase price from the customer. For example, this may happen if a customer transfers from abroad and additional fees are incurred. The amount received may be less than the full purchase price, up to the tolerance.
- Click on the button Save.
