1. How can I implement a video course with Digistore24?
There are two ways to sell a video course via Digistore24:

Using a membership system

Using the download vault
With so-called membership systems, you can create a login area on your external website and display certain pages only to registered users. Therefore, it makes sense to upload your video courses on a page that can only be accessed with the appropriate login credentials.
1.1 How does the customer receive the login credentials if I use a membership system?
To ensure that your customer automatically receives the login credentials after purchase, you should connect a membership system to Digistore24. When a customer purchases your video course product via Digistore24, Digistore24 automatically sends the respective order data to your membership system, which then generates login credentials and finally sends them to your customer.
If you use DigiMember or a generic IPN connection (only if it is programmed accordingly), the login credentials can even be automatically included in the order confirmation email from Digistore24. This is not possible with other systems.
1.2 How does the process work from the customer's perspective if I decide to use a membership system?

Your customer visits your external sales page and clicks on the link to the Digistore24 order form.

The customer enters their address and bank details and clicks on Buy.

As soon as the payment is verified—which usually takes only a few seconds—a so-called IPN call (more information here) is automatically sent to your membership system to generate the respective login credentials. Depending on which membership system you use, you can usually have the login credentials sent through the membership system. Please check with the respective provider for more information.

The customer is then redirected to the thank you page with information on how to access the product.

Simultaneously, Digistore24 automatically sends the customer an order confirmation email. If you use DigiMember as your membership system (or have programmed a generic IPN connection accordingly), it is possible to include the generated login credentials in this order confirmation email.
1.3 How can I check if my IPN connection is working?
To verify that your IPN connection works as intended, you can perform a test purchase.
If the login credentials are not sent despite correct settings on the membership system side or even if the login credential generation does not occur, you should check the status of the IPN call. Follow these steps:

In the vendor view, go to Reports > Connections (IPN).

If the connection does not work, an error message will be displayed here.

Click on the magnifying glass icon to see the error message that Digistore24 receives from the server of your membership system. If you do not know what this error message means, contact the provider of your membership system.

1.4 How do I connect Digistore24 to a membership system?
Such a connection between a membership system and Digistore24 is called an IPN connection.
Usually, you should have such an IPN connection programmed by a developer because the connection should be customized to the respective membership system. However, some membership systems have already had suitable IPN connections programmed by our developers, allowing you to connect Digistore24 to the respective system with just a few clicks. 2. Using the Download Vault
If you want the customer to simply download the videos after purchase, you can use the Digistore24 download vault feature.
In this case, the customer will be redirected to a Digistore24 page where you can provide files for download instead of a thank you page after a successful purchase.
With the download vault feature, you have the following advantages:

Through our approval process, the customer is assured that they are not downloading any viruses or illegal data.

Even large files are not a problem: You can provide up to 1 TB for download via Digistore24.
