Why do I see days with earnings of 0 € on my dashboard?
If you see earnings of 0 € on your dashboard, it means that you did not earn anything that day. It is not normal for many to generate revenue i.e. sales every day.
What do earnings with a minus mean?
If a customer cancels the order after a purchase for which you have already got your share, and then a refund of the purchase amount is made or the amount is returned to the customer’s account through a chargeback, your earnings will be withdrawn. This is indicated on the dashboard with a minus in front of the amount.
If you would like to track the refund, you can click on the blue colored date of your order, copy the order ID and enter it in the search mask under Reports > Transactions. The refund will be displayed in the transaction list.
Why can payouts on the dashboard change?
The figures given for the upcoming payouts are just estimates. These values can decrease at any time due to refunds and chargebacks.
Dashboard total vs Transaction list total – Why are there usually different totals here?
This is partly due to the fact that these amounts are calculated differently. For example, the chargeback fee is not included in the transaction list total, but it is included in the dashboard total.
The total in the transaction list is always calculated in real time.
Why have I not received a payout from Digistore24 yet?
There are usually four reasons why a payout may not have occurred:
- You have not provided your VAT ID. Please check if you have provided your VAT ID correctly.
- You have only selected one or two payments per month rather than the number of payouts you would like.
- You have not yet reached the minimum payout threshold. This is at least 50 € for the first monthly payout and 200 € for all others.
Please note that it’s only possible to make payouts to companies and not to private individuals. That’s why you need a VAT ID or tax number as a small business owner.
Do I receive my earnings as a vendor together with my commissions as an affiliate?
Yes! If you generate earnings both as a vendor and an affiliate, those earnings are added up and displayed as one amount on your dashboard. Among other things, you can see that the amount on your dashboard does not change when you switch between the vendor and affiliate view in the top left corner of the menu.
How high is the Digistore24 margin for a product price of only 1 €?
If you offer a product for the price of 1 €, you may wonder why you do not receive a credit note after a purchase. This is because we pay VAT on this amount (if there is any) to the tax office and then we have to deduct our margin of 7.9 % + 1 € as well. There is no affiliate and vendor commission in this case.
How does the cash flow between Digistore24, payment providers and me work?
Digistore24 works with the reseller model. This means that when a digital product is sold on www.digistore24.com, a contract is concluded between the end customer as buyer and Digistore24 GmbH as the seller. You as a vendor and/or affiliate receive a collective payment from us; this considerably reduces the effort you have to put into bookkeeping.
Development of the payment process from the purchase to the payout
Step 1: Purchase decision The customer buys your product using one of the following payment methods: direct debit, Klarna, immediate transfer, credit card, PayPal.
Step 2: Solvency check The customer’s solvency is checked by an external provider.
Step 3: Debiting of the purchase amount If the customer is creditworthy, the responsible external provider (i.e. either PayPal, your credit card company or similar) will debit the purchase amount to Digistore24’s account.
Step 4: Allocation of earnings Digistore24 now allocates the respective earnings and presents them under Reports > Commissions.
Step 5: Communication about the status of the payment The communication between the external providers and Digistore24 about the current status of the payment (also in the case of a refunded payment or a chargeback that has occurred) takes place via API interfaces.
Step 6: Transfer of commissions Digistore24 will transfer the earnings to the payout account provided (bank account or PayPal account) at the next possible payout date. The payout threshold must have been reached for this.
I sold a product but have not received any money yet. Why?
We generally have four payout dates per month with different thresholds:
- On the 7th of the month, payout is possible from € 50.
- On the 14th of the month, payout is possible from € 200.
- On the 21st of the month, payout is possible from € 200.
- On the 28th of the month, payout is possible from € 200.
Good to know
For international transfers, a withdrawal threshold of 250 € / $ / CHF applies. You can find more information here.
In addition, Digistore24 has a security deposit. This means that 90 % of your earnings will be paid after 14 days and the remaining 10 % will be paid after 60 days. The duration may vary for higher priced products. You can find more information about the reasons why we take a security deposit here.
Under Reports > Commissions you can see when the balance for each transaction will be paid out in the column "Payout out" (provided you have reached the payout threshold).
I sold a product but only received part of my money. Why?
There are many potential causes for this:
- An affiliate brokered the product purchase and received the percentage you set as a commission.
- The Digistore24 margin was deducted from your earnings.
- You use the download vault feature.
- You have set up a joint venture.
- Since customers can initiate a refund after they've purchased a product, we have introduced a security deposit. This means that initially only 90 % of your earnings are paid out.
To calculate how much money you'll receive and when, we've created a tax and commission calculator.
