When setting up IPN connections you can specify fields that are set up in the target system of IPNs ("custom fields"). This maps data from Digistore24 to fields in the target system so that they are populated ("data mapping"). To do this, you enter the field names into the target system in Digistore24.
Example:
You want to statistically evaluate the countries to which products are sold. To do this, you created a field in the target system for each product with the field name country and the ID of the product, e.g. country_123456 and country_123457. Digistore24 should fill the respective field for each sale with the code of the country the buyer comes from, e.g. DE or FR.
For this you set up the custom field Country - Code in Digistore24 like this: country_{product_id}.
The result is as follows:
- If the product with ID 123456 is sold to Germany, Digistore24 will send in the IPN the field name
country_123456with the contentDE. - If the product with ID 123457 is sold to France, Digistore24 will send in the IPN the field name
country_123457with the contentFR.
How to use custom fields:
- Copy the field name from the external system. The field can be a standard in the target system or you can create it yourself, e.g. as a master record field or custom field.
- Log into your Digistore24 account.
- Go to Settings > Connections (IPN) in the vendor view.
- Add a new IPN connection or edit an existing IPN connection.
- Enter the field name for the parameter whose value you want Digistore24 to enter in the field in the Custom Fields, Customers to Affiliates, Product, Address and/or Amounts sections. Use the wildcards if the field name is dynamic.
- Click on the Save button.
