Connect Digistore24 to Joomla via Digistore Connect

Digistore Connect is an extension developed independently by Medialekt. It serves to connect your Joomla website with Digistore24.

Functions of Digistore Connect

On this page you will find example possibilities of how you can use Digistore Connect. Basically, different digital products and services can be offered with Digistore Connect.

Connect Digistore24 to Joomla

First, you should purchase Digistore Connect to use the extension. You can access the download and potential updates, as well as make support requests, for up to 30 days after purchase. If this time has passed, you can upgrade to the "Digistore Connect Extension" package to receive another 30 days of support and updates. Digistore Connect can be purchased here. Step 1: Installation of the extension

  1. Download the extension from the Medialekt member area.
    Note
    After purchase, you can only download the extension for 30 days.  
  2. Log in to your Joomla administration area.
  3. Click on Extensions at the top and select Manage > Install.
  4. Now switch to the tab Upload Package File.
  5. Drag the extension file into the drag-and-drop field or click on Or browse for file and select the extension file on your computer.
  6. Finally, click on Upload & Install.

The extension should now be connected to Digistore24.

Step 2: Connection to Digistore24

  1. Log in to Digistore24.
  2. In the Vendor view, go to Settings > Integrations (IPN).
  3. Click on Add connection.
  4. Select a name for the connection. This is only visible to you.
  5. Select Generic as the type.
  6. Select the products for which you want to use Digistore Connect.
  7. For the field Send notifications, select the first option Customer Orders.
  8. For the field For events, select the first option All.
  9. Enter the following URL as the IPN URL:
    http://DOMAIN.TLD/index.php?option=com_digistoreconnect&task=getIPN
    Note
    Replace DOMAIN.TLD with your domain. If your domain is example.com, your IPN URL will be: http://example.com/index.php?option=com_digistoreconnect&task=getIPN.  
  10. For IPN password, enter a password of your choice.
  11. Change the IPN timing to Before forwarding to the thank you page.
  12. Finally, click on Save.

Some settings in Digistore Connect and Joomla are now necessary.

Step 3: Basic settings

  1. In the Joomla administration area, click on Components at the top and select Digistore Connect > Settings.
  2. Enter the IPN password you selected earlier at the top.
  3. Now click on System at the top and select Configuration.
  4. Switch to the Server tab.
  5. For Error reporting, select None.
  6. Click on Save in the top left corner. To finally test the IPN connection, go to the Vendor view to Settings > Integrations (IPN).
  7. Click on the pencil icon of the generic connection to Joomla.
  8. Click on Test connection at the bottom. You should now receive a successful server response.

Congratulations! You have successfully connected Digistore24 to Joomla via Digistore Connect. You can now create products/packages and articles. You can find more information on how to use it in the documentation for developers.
