Set up Digistore24 account

Welcome to Digistore24. Before you start setting up and selling your products it is important that you set up your Digistore24 account first.

Enter address data

You have already entered your address at your registration process. Just make sure that you did not enter your personal postal address here, but your company address. This is important because, if you enter your tax information later on in the process, Digistore24 will match the address of your tax information with the one you entered in your Digistore24 account.

This is how you enter your company address:

  1. In the Vendor view, go to Account > Details.
  2. Scroll to the Address window and enter your required address information.
  3. Finally, click Save at the very bottom.

Enter VAT ID or tax number

As a vendor/ affiliate, you are engaged in commercial activities. If your company is based in Europe, you have to provide Digistore24 with your VAT ID or your tax number.

This only applies:

  • if your company is located within Europe.
  • and if you sell through our reseller Digistore24 GmbH.

If your company is located outside Europe and you sell exclusively through our US reseller Digistore24 Inc. we do not require a VAT ID or tax number from you. Find more information and use cases here.

Tip
You can apply for your VAT ID free of charge at the Federal Central Tax Office. If you are a German citizen, you can apply for your VAT ID here. If you are an Austrian citizen, you can find more information here. If you are a Swiss citizen, you can find more information here.  

This is how you enter your VAT ID/tax number:

  1. In the vendor view, go to Account > Details.
  2. Scroll down to the Tax number window.
  3. Do the following:
    1. Open the drop-down menu in the VAT regulation field and select the regulation that applies to your company.
    2. Then enter either your tax number or your VAT ID in the field below.
  4. Scroll to the end of the form and click Save.
Saving did not work - what should I do?
Please make absolutely sure that the details you have entered are exactly the same as the details you gave to the responsible tax authority. If you click on "Save", Digistore24 will automatically check the details with your tax authority. If the details do not match completely, you will not be able to continue. If you have forgotten or are unsure about which details you gave to your tax authority, you can retrieve them via this link.
