In the first step, create and set up a product on Digistore24. This serves as the basis for everything else and will only need to be linked accordingly.
Note
You set one language per Digistore24 product. If you want to sell the same product in multiple languages, first fully create and set up a base product and then duplicate it for each additional language (see Offer a product in multiple languages).
Every product you sell should also be created as its own Digistore24 product! This applies to both products that serve as free gadgets and larger product packages. However, you can create them as add-ons to sell them in a single sales process. You can learn more about this here.
Step-by-step guide: Create a product
- In the vendor view, open Account > Products.
- Click the Add product button.
- Enter a Product name.
-
Select the language in which you want to offer this product and, therefore, your order form in the Language field.
If you want to offer the product in additional languages, create a product copy for each language (see Offer a product in multiple languages).
-
Select a product type for your digital product, e.g., Membership area.
You can specify an affiliate commission for this product in the Affiliate commission field.
- Enter your sales page URL in the Sales page field. You can also enter the URL of your order form here.
- Enter the URL of your thank you page in the Thank you page field. If you don't specify one, the Digistore24 order confirmation page will be selected automatically.
- Do not request approval yet – you will do this later!
- If you want to limit the sale, e.g., time-based, you can set this in the lower window sales restrictions.
- Click Save at the bottom.
Offer a product in multiple languages
If you want to sell your product in multiple languages, it's best to work with a fully set up base product and then create a copy for each additional language.
Note
Only duplicate a product once the base product is already configured the way you want to sell it in general (e.g., product type, payment plans/prices, links, Deliver settings, basic settings in the order form). This way you don't have to rebuild this foundation for each language.
- In the Vendor view, open Account > Products.
- Find your base product in the product list.
- Open the three-dot menu (⋮) for the product and select Copy product.
- Confirm the prompt “The item will now be copied. Continue?” by clicking Yes.
- Then open the copy and go to the Properties tab.
- In the Language field, set the desired language for this product copy.
- In Properties, adjust the language-dependent fields, especially:
- Product name
- Product name for buyer (for copies, this is prefilled as “Copy of …”)
- Sales page (language-specific URL)
- Thank you page (language-specific URL)
- Switch to the Order form tab and translate/check all content the buyer sees (e.g., texts, notes, labels and, if applicable, required texts – depending on your configuration).
- Then (depending on your product setup), check other areas where language/content is relevant, e.g.:
- Notifications (email content/templates, if product-specific)
- Deliver (download/access pages, texts, files, if language-dependent)
- Conversion-Cockpit / Upsells (upsell pages/texts, if you use them)
- E-tickets and Variants (if used and language-dependent)
- Save your changes and run a test purchase so you can see whether the correct language appears everywhere in the ordering process.
Tip
Use clear naming per language (e.g., “Product name – DE”, “Product name – EN”) and keep a small checklist of the places you always adapt per language copy (e.g., sales page, thank you page, product name for buyer, texts in the order form, upsell pages/texts).
